Overview
In this sermon from John 6:22–59, Pastor Nathan continues our journey through the Gospel of John and encounters Jesus’ profound declaration, “I am the bread of life.” After miraculous signs like feeding the 5,000 and walking on water, Jesus invites us to bring Him our “loaves and fishes” and trust Him to do the impossible. He contrasts perishable manna with the true bread from heaven—Himself—and calls us to believe in Him, partake deeply of His life, and allow His sustaining presence to satisfy our deepest hunger for meaning and purpose.

Sermon Notes

Scripture Passage
John 6:22–59 (NLT) – Jesus’ dialogue with the crowd about the manna, the bread of life, and the call to believe and “eat” His flesh and drink His blood as a spiritual metaphor.
Main Points
1. Miracles Reveal the Miracle-Maker – Feeding the 5,000 and walking on water point to Jesus’ identity and power to do the impossible.
2. Jesus Is the True Bread from Heaven – Unlike manna, which perishes, Jesus offers eternal life; “I am the bread of life” is the first of seven “I AM” statements in John.
3. Our Response: Believe and Consume All of Jesus – Salvation is a gift received by faith (John 6:29); we’re invited to “take in all of Him,” trusting His work on our behalf and allowing His presence to transform us.

• Application

• Spend energy seeking the “eternal life” that Jesus gives by believing in Him (John 6:27–29).
• “Consume all of Jesus” by embracing every part of His work, guidance, correction, and calling—even in life’s darkest valleys.
• Open your hands and heart today: repent, believe in Jesus as Lord, and invite Him to satisfy your spiritual hunger.
• Closing

Pastor Nathan led a communion-style invitation: congregation prayed with eyes closed, raising hands as a sign of faith and receiving Jesus’ sustaining presence. He then prayed for the Holy Spirit to strengthen belief, reveal needed changes, and cultivate ongoing communion with Christ.
