I told the church on Sunday that it’s such a privilege to be your pastor and I just want to repeat that to you again today. Hills Church is a family of believers (and seekers!) who are changing. We’re learning more and more what it means to Abide in Christ, and best of all, we’re doing it together. This is why God created the church, because He knew we needed each other as we journey through life and especially as we seek after God.

Hills Church is full of different people with a wide range of personalities, backgrounds and gifts. From my observation, we’ve learnt that our love for God is what unites us, and that we’re not satisfied with just being nominal Christians, we want to be all that God has called us to be. For all those reasons and more, that is why I say it’s a privilege.

So I want to encourage you this week, as Abiding in Christ becomes more of who you are and what you do, look for ways to encourage those around you to do the same. Don’t just wait for a sermon or a prayer service, find ways to spur each other on. The church is so much deeper and wider than a Sunday sermon, it’s all of us living out our Christian journey together. That means we do lots of little things. Call someone who is struggling and encourage and pray for them. Have meals together. Look for new people in our church and help them become immersed in the Hills Church family. Pray for someone. Give to someone.

Our Wednesday night prayer services have begun. Prayer is one of the most practical ways that we Abide, so I encourage you, find a way to come along if possible. As I have been saying though, if you can’t make it, pray at home or wherever you are. You can find below the things we’re praying for, and then let me know you prayed with us so we can all be encouraged together as the body. If you’ve been praying with your children, I would really like to hear from you. The result of our prayers? – We align ourselves with God’s will and fruit will be in abundance.

Doors open at 6pm for quiet, reflective prayer. There will be a pastor or elder available to pray for any need you have from 6:15pm.

Romans 8:31 (NLT)
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

God Bless

P.S. Church wide reading plan starts next week. If you didn’t get your bible on Sunday, make sure you’re here this Sunday to get your copy.
