Hi Church,

I spent some time last week with some local pastors, and I was encouraged by their reports. Yes the year had been difficult, but what was obvious form our discussion is that people in our community are seeking answers.

We believe we have the best answer to life’s questions, a relationship with God. With Christmas on our doorstep, we have an opportunity to plant seeds of the good news of Christ with our family, friends and neighbours. I want to encourage you to invite someone to one of our two Christmas services. Make sure you register everyone who is coming with you on our website.

On another note, as most of your are now aware, we made the exciting announcement that Pastor Steve has accepted a call to be lead pastor at Wangarratta Wesleyan Methodist Church. I’m personally excited about this (although sad to say goodbye to the Van Der Poel family), because Hills Church has always been willing to have open hands to how God would send out from within. We have a history of raising up and sending out and I’m pleased to see that continue. We all know that Pastor Steve and Amanda will be a blessing to that church (a church of similar size to Hills) and we want to send them with our blessing and pray for God’s anointing. Make sure you join us on January 17th for a special service when we say goodbye, and also join us for BYO lunch after.

If you’re preparing to head off on holidays some time in the next couple of weeks, my prayer is that you have a blessed time of rest and refreshment.

I’ve been praying about 2021, we know it will be different to 2020, but because of our Hope in Jesus, we have optimism and anticipation for our future.

God Bless
Pastor Nathan
