Hi there Church! Kerry here!
If you are relatively new to our church, you can find me sitting behind the reception desk during the week and helping with whatever needs doing on a Sunday.
What a ride these last few months have been for us as a church. I have put together some photos that people took during our time online together. I hope you enjoy them! Keep scrolling down to check them out and continue reading.
I know that I really enjoyed seeing your photos as it made me feel a little more connected during this
time … but I really missed worshiping together as a church.
I found myself craving to be together in worship. There is beauty and freedom and unity when we can come together and worship God. On Sunday when I hear our voices together, it moves my heart, I am often filled with tears and I cannot help but pour my heart out to Jesus, put my hands in the air and give Him my worship. It has been good for my soul. When we weren’t able to come to church I did find it hard to worship during a service and God really challenged me in this and He continues to challenge me with this.
God has reminded me that worship is a sacrifice and an offering to Christ and how we worship should not be determined by whether there is a stage in front of us or whether there is a congregation surrounding us, whether we feel like it or not, or whether there is a good “vibe” in the room … What is important is that my voice, my actions, my heart, my entire life, are bringing offerings of love, adoration, surrender, sacrifice and praise to my Creator.
Whenever my idea of worship becomes a little warped, or has shifted focus, this song is put on replay over and over in my brain. God is saying, “Kerry, remember Who this is all about!”.
When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth
That will bless Your heart
I’ll bring You more than a song, for a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You, all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You, all about You, Jesus
Worship is not for us. It is for God and God alone.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, when we are together, when we are watching online, when you are driving in your car, giving thanks, gathering with friends, giving your money or your time, living your life …. are you making your worship all about God?
1 Chronicles 16:29 “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.”
Be blessed church!
