What do you do when God’s plans aren’t your plans? You have no choice but to follow where the Holy Spirit leads. This is the position I find myself in this week. This is a season for us to focus on prayer but every time I sit down to write a sermon on prayer he simply says “You still don’t know how much I love you. So stop and Abide in my love”.

And so that’s what I’ve been doing this week. In amongst all the busy activity, I simply have to stop and rest in the Lord. I have to lay down all my doubts, fears, temptations, struggles and pain and trust God with everything.  It’s not easy. But the more I get a glimpse of how much God loves me the more I realise that I need to trust him.

On Sunday we finished with verse 9 of John 15 (ESV):As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.

There it is in black and white. Jesus loves you the same way the father loves him. Can you get a sense of how big that is? Can you believe that promise? If you can (and even if you still struggle with it), the next invitation is to abide in his love.  Rest in it. Let it fill you and bring you the peace He so wants you to have.

I want to talk a little more about this on Sunday, so I invite you to join us again in worship of our Lord together.

God Bless
