Hi Church,

I’m seeing God’s hand at work. He’s calling us to go deeper into the water and trust Him more and more.

There is a lot of work to do, a lot of battles to fight, but it’s our job to pray and trust God for “The battle belongs to the Lord”.  Hills Church was always meant to be an outpost for the Kingdom of God in the North West suburbs of Brisbane, where the Good News was to be proclaimed. My prayer is for Hills Church to be a beacon of light that shines brightly, that offers hope, that brings healing and restoration.

I believe God desires this and to move mightily among us and to shine brightly through us. My prayer is for God to move in power and to bring a fresh outpouring of His spirit to embolden us more and more.

This is one of the reasons God has called us to pray.

When Solomon finished the temple and dedicated it to God, the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told Solomon that the Israelites should dedicate themselves to Him:

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

This message to Solomon for Israel is eternal truth and applies to us today. As children of God, our posture, our disposition as Christians is to be humble before God. He is calling us to prayer. He is calling us to seek his face (not just his hand!), and to turn from our sinful ways. Then we will see his hand at work more and more.

In the church at the moment, there are three banners, A Church that Prays, Families that Pray, Believers that Pray. This I believe is what God is calling us to be, God’s people that pray. I encourage you, pray more and more. Pray with your family, pray with each other, pray in secret, pray with the church. Let’s humbly seek His face together and Jesus will hear from heaven and stretch out His arm to us.

My prayer is that we will be the praying church God desires us to be. I invite you to join in and experience the joy of watching God build His church.

I look forward to seeing you tonight at 6:30pm for prayer and again on Sunday at 9am.

God Bless

Pastor Nathan
